The Christian app I would rather skip!

Image found at The American Jesus.
You’ve probably heard: The Holy Catholic Church has blessed an iPhone App called “Confession”. If not, here’s the news link from the BBC.
Some of its features include:
-Custom examination of Conscience based upon age, sex, and vocation (single, married, priest, or religious)
-Multiple user support with password protected accounts
-Ability to add sins not listed in standard examination of conscience
-Confession walkthrough including time of last confession in days, weeks, months, and years
-Choose from 7 different acts of contrition
-Custom interface for iPad
-Full retina display support
This app is taking of like mad. Why go to church if you have a iphone.

1) You have to sign up for an account

2) Your confessions/sins are password protected!

3) After signing in, you examine your conscience using the Ten Commandments.

Unlike the real Ten Commandments, Confession's Big 10 come check lists. See images below for detail...

For instance, if you select Commandment 6--You shall not commit adultery--you receive a checklist of sub-sins that the Catholic church categorizes under commandment #6 (see below)...

If you've committed one of these sins since your last confession, you simply touch the little box next to the sin and Confession will remember it for you!

4) Select your sin(s)

This is the checklist categorized under "You shall not covet your neighbor's wife"...

This is what guilty looks like...

5) Now, it’s time to confess! You begin this process by selecting the “confession” option…

I'm not Catholic, which is why it's been so long since I last went to confession...

Then, you receive a list of your sins...

Repent...

6) You are FORGIVEN…

7) Then you receive a nice quote from a saint!

And you’re done…
And the words of Tweeter Mike
A confession app for Catholics. Now Midwestern Protestants need a “let’s not talk about it” app….
Maybe we are taking things a little bit to far.

  1. Mense wat nie sonde wil erken/bely nie, - hulle gaan verseker nie van hierdie app hou nie.
Daar is seker ander redes ook waarom mense nie van die app sal hou nie?
You don't exactly say why YOU would skip it!
Waarom kerk toe gaan as ons 'n Bybel het, kan ook tog gevra word.
Goeie app man - ek kan dit nuttig gebruik!
